the challenge

I was tasked with working alongside a team to create a visual identity for a new youth church group in Montreal, Quebec. The group aimed to reach both young Christians and non-Christians seeking a modern, youthful, and non-traditional church experience. With a short timeline to build momentum and establish a social media presence before the launch, I developed the colour palette, branding guide, font selections, and designed the content our team identified as essential to connect with our niche audience.

The Process

As part of the marketing team, I worked as the in-house designer, collaborating closely with the team to develop ideas, understand our target audience, and create content that resonated with them. I was responsible for building the visual identity and ensuring that Reconnected maintained a consistent aesthetic.

Once our ideas were finalized, I handled the design, editing, and execution using software such as Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere Pro.

The Outcome

The color palette centers on shades of blue, symbolizing hope, faith, and tranquility. Photography maintains a consistent editing style to create visual harmony, while bold sans-serif typography ensures clarity and stands out. The design is youthful and modern.

As a result, the Reconnected Instagram reached nearly 30,000 views before the church’s opening, and the team successfully connected with our target audience. As the designer, I was proud to bring the church’s vision to life through banners, posters, reels, service visuals, and other content.

Through this experience, I learned that I thrive in collaborative environments and that teamwork truly does make the dream work.
